About „NPE“ - Namipunga Polar Expeditions

Namipunga Polar Expeditions was founded in 2003 and offers demanding hiking and skiing in high arctic nature. To do so we organize all of our trips solely in expedition style - without any support or base camp.

Our customers are enthusiastic, active people who like to reach outpost regions by fair means.

We‘re built on 10 years arctic outdoor experience and use our exellent contacts to the governor, the Norwegian Polar Institute and other tour operateurs to get hold of the newest information about the region we want to go to (weather conditions, avalanches, water highs of the rivers, conditions on glaciers).

The word “Namipunga“ comes from Greenlandic language meaning “where am I?“

We ask ourselves in different situations “where am I?“ When we are out in nature, generally in our life, to find out what we‘ve done, what goals we‘ve reached and what there is still to do. We often find ourselves in the middle of foolishness in our modern society (just turn on your TV).

Namipunga Polar Expeditions helps to put the focus back on really important things.

We offer physical challenges and unlimited experiences in a breathtaking high arctic nature, showing how small and fragile we are.

Our group size between 4 and 9 people gives us the unique opportunity of an individual outdoor experience.
