About the book „Trekking mit Hund“
With his 10 years arctic experience, Heiko Kühr became an important adviser for Namipunga Polar Expeditions.
Since the 90s he has been on many hiking trips with his dog Hondo, a Siberian Husky.
Both walked together around 2000km crossing the Alps, the Pyrenees, walking in northern Sweden and in Norway.
They’ve even hiked in Svalbard.
After his dog died in 2003, Heiko wrote a book about his experience – „Trekking mit Hund“, published in 2006.
Description
This book is full of information about preparation, how to use public transportation in foreign countries without getting in trouble, first aid and much more. It is a kind of manual but even though while explaining, Heiko always includes examples from his trips. „Trekking mit Hund“ means something like „Hiking with dogs“
Unfortunately until now it is published only in German.
